Title: From the Past
Everything was hung up neatly, as if there was a person coming daily to clean up. There was an air of stillness, mingled with the stale scent of love. Something that was left behind, and something taken away, away from the daily constrictions that bound the owner of the house.
Something forgotten, something that he still wants to be forgotten. Set against a landscape of falling leaves. How cliché, Koyama thought. A student of the arts, jaded already by all the different thoughts he derived from that earlier reaction. You must look and analyze this from all possible aspects… Enough is enough, he scolded himself. You can’t possibly still be yearning for him. You promised to give up after this time. But what if he decides to accept after the tenth time? Maybe he was testing you, his heart argued. I’m tired of waiting.
The last time I observed him was the same time as this, Koyama smiled to himself as he remembered. He was hiding behind this very tree, hiding while a junior confessed to Yamapi.
That mask of him never wavered. Nothing much swayed this man’s confidence or composure.
Something snapped inside him.
“Even if you’re the leader I cannot allow you to say such hurtful things. Nobody meant for that to happen.” Koyama never dreamt that he dared to yell at Yamapi, known for havoc during his anger.
Koyama stumbled back, staring at that strong back shrinking and blurring.
He had left something again.
This was something he decided, from drawing energies of the others, and his own. Going out with a bang is better than going quietly. After all it suited him. Double personality, on stage and off. It is time to end this. He sees that sleeping face, clear of worries. He plants a kiss directly on those half open lips. The time will stop for the moment they are together. It will start for the moment they part. For the third time he feels the fullness again. His soft warm breath against his.
Yamapi does love him.
“Didn’t I say to leave that alone!” Ryo shouted at Tegoshi.
They were fighting recently, and the tension within the NEWS room is rising rapidly.
“Then don’t put it on my clothes!” Tegoshi yelled back.
The friction was unbearable.
“What should I do…?” Koyama fretted, afraid that they would start throwing punches soon. “Where’s Yamapi? He’s the only one who can pacify them…”
Outside the door was Yamapi, leaning against the wall. The eyes reflected not sadness but ennui.
“Ne… Yamapi is very quiet recently. Do you know what’s wrong?” Jin asked NEWS, concerned. “He ignored me the other time when I called him.”
“We know… and we’re trying to find out without him getting angry. You know he doesn’t like us poking into his business.” Massu had a face of dejection, those sparkling eyes has lost its shine.
“Even the juniors are worried about him being out of sorts. Hikaru-kun has asked me about it.”
“Especially Koyama… he keeps dropping things.” Shige said dismally. He wanted both of them to be back to their normal selves.
I am really happy to know too. But I wasn’t sure about your relationship with the other members. I also didn’t want to disrupt their pace, and ours. I remained friends because I didn’t have the courage to tell you.
But now, it is too late. It would have worked out two years ago, if I had the courage to confess.
I still like you, in the same way. But I am torn to say that it can’t work out now.
Yamapi picks up a white letter addressed to him. The handwriting looks familiar, yet a bit different. What is different is the color. It was not brightly colored and did not have the feel of a fan’s letter. The letter trembled, as Yamapi prepared to crush it. But what if it wasn’t a joke? After he did overhear that Koyama likes him from Koyama himself. But Yamapi never dreamt it was this type of “like”. Yamapi began to write a letter addressed to Koyama.
He puts it under his hand phone inconspicuously.
